We are year-round Cape residents and keep going back. We always sit in the bar area which is cozy and has quick service. The tenderloin is excellent and the seafood fresh and cooked perfectly. Well worth your dining dollar as a resident or tourist.

The food was good and reasonably priced. My wife and I had the three course menu (only $22, a no brainer) . We ate outside which we always enjoy. I had the clam chowder for a starter and my wife had the shrimp cocktail. we both had the swordfish...

I have eaten at the Barnstable Tavern for years.. The Acorn Squash soup is to "die for" . Friendly atmostphere, great staff and everything on the menu is delicious. Enjoy an early dinner and go to the theater across the street.
